The idea being that this quilt is so simple and quick to assemble, you can’t make just one. Hence, its name the Potato Chip Block!

This quilt block uses a rectangular block that is repeated around a center square. You can use any size as long the the length is twice the width.
The blocks are sewn end to end into longer strips and sewn around the center. It’s not unlike a courthouse step log cabin pattern. Instead of one long strip, you’ll use multiple short rectangles sewn together to the length needed. What a fantastic scrappy concept! Not to mention how beautiful it turns out.

Once you have a pile of rectangles ready you can begin assembling you quilt.

When some of the scrap pieces I planned to use were too short, I just added on extra fabric. Voila! A beautiful rectangle was ready to add on to the pile. These results are amazing. These pieced rectangles give the finished quilt design a very intricate look.
